Strictly, MT (mega tesla) is a measure of magnetic flux density.

it is open to interpretation i believe.
depending on its context. Ive always thought that M is a prefix meaning an order of magnitude of (10^6)
hence that would define a megatonne, MT
thats just how i understand it.

It might be Mega Tonne (1,000,000 tonnes), or it might be Mega Tesla (unit of magnetic flux) - where did you see it stated?
