The US is one of the most liberal countries in the world, and as the last vestiges of the hippie generation slowly die off, failing time and again to steer this country towards socialism, it will surely continue.

Unless there was an asteroid strike that destroyed the middle east, much of Asia, and random (but very conservative) nations around the world, I don't think the USA could have much of a shot at that title. Yeah, most of Western Europe makes America look conservative by contrast - at least, America less the 'bluest' of it's cities, like SF, NY, & LA.
America is a social democracy, already putting it systemically to the left of center, and political discourse here is dominated in academia and the media by the left. On the right, you have religious movements, and, to a lesser extent, business interests, though they do not always work well together. Add a constitution that shields the rights of the minority to an extent, and America is moving towards outright socialism and moral relativism more slowly than say, Holland, but it's a long, long way from 'most conservative country in the world.'

Conservative?--check into some history, sociology, anthropology textbooks or read a few articles and statistics online. I think you'll find other nations have been or are much more conservative than the current administration of the United States, and that administration is on its way out.

However much I want to agree, I can't because I know better.
This week a 19 year old Saudi girl was sentenced to 200 lashes and 6 months in jail for being gang raped.
In Pakistan being gay is a jail-able offense (if you aren't killed first).
In the Philippians real Crucifixions are undertaken as a religious act.
In France censorship is not uncommon; Nazi literature is illegal for example.
The list goes on and on.

What utter nonsense. Canada is over 75% Christian (with atheists being basically a tiny fraction of the 20% "No religious association" In Poland 89% are Roman Catholic. Over 80% of Mexicans are Roman Catholic. and so on., and so on. those numbers are so bogus as to be no longer properly worth commenting on.

What do you mean by "conservative?" By any measure all the Muslim states are more conservative than the USA, especially Saudi Arabia.

I assume that by "conservative" you mean "Ronald Reagan conservative."
The most conservative nation in the would would be Iran or Saudi Arabia or whatnot.
The US is "Ronald Reagan conservative" because of its roots. People came on boats to the other side of the world and started starving to death. The only way they survived was through hard work, intelligence, risk-taking and trust in God. (no, the Indians didn't save them)
