When I'm at home, I just wanna be left alone. I avoid my neighbors at all costs.

Where I live right now for almost six years I have neighbors that I am very close too and enjoy their company very much.Be open smile say good morning don't close yourself up in your house or apartment.If everyone was nice to their neighbors I believe that the world would be a little nicer.

I stay to myself, but then again, I admit my situation is not typical. I am currently stuck living in public housing (long story short: I need to get stable on meds that work first, and find work that lets me keep myself that way). And well....you know, right, from some of my longer Answers here maybe, how I *might could* have an issue or two? *lol* ^_^
Well....I'm one of maybe a dozen people (being generous here) out of an apartment building of some 80+ people....one of a dozen that *passes for normal and sane*. O_O And no, it isn't the older people or the ones with a diagnosed "problem" who are the worst....it's the ones with *no* diagnosis and *no* real reason to be the way they are.
But yeah. I'm one of the "good ones" in my building. One of the smarter, better educated, higher-functioning ones, from what building management tells me.
Which means I live with some *messed UP* people (and really, some of my neighbors are messed up, truly and madly).
So I stay to myself....I don't want or *need* to deal with the drunks, druggies, and outright sociopaths living in my building. That kind of negative influence can bring a body down, you know?

I've never become close friends with the neighbors. We are always polite to each other when see each other, saying hello and asking the other person how they're doing, etc. I just keep to myself.

Keep to myself. Although I did accept a neighbor's invitation to a drink once. We sorta got into a drinking contest of sorts kinda... And I kinda won.

I'm actually best friends with one of my old neighbors and she now lives like 1000 miles away from me.
I've made some really good friends that way.

My family is friends with the majority of the other families who live on our street. Close with only four or five of them though.

My neighbors don't speak English, but we're friendly with each other.
