You mean you have already managed to setup an internal home network using such router but now you want to disable wireless and instead connect to a cable modem directly using Ethernet?

You need Gateway 10/100 Network Drivers Version: 4.23.0.0 driver on that list, unlike DSL modems using PPPoE standard, cable modems using direct standard DHCP and hence have no need for extra software for it to work just as well as it should be, I never install those myself, just driver for the built-in port itself should suffice.

You would need to install the software that came with your modem so that it can properly handle the logging into your Cable Internet Account.
Unless you don't have the "Local Area Connection" in your "My Network Places" on your desktop

you want a on the spot router, it does not might desire to have a working laptop or laptop stressful-under pressure out to it. you will plug the cable modem into the WAN port on the router. The router will immediately assign an IP handle to the on the spot laptop and direction it to the internet.

You should have CAT5 sockets on the router. Just connect to those, then disable the wireless card on your machine to prevent conflict. you can not connect to the modem and use the router.
