how old should i be before i get screened for brest cancer? i have a family history and for 15 i have unusally large brests... im REALLY freaked out about getting cancer, cause 3 of our family friends were diagnosed with it....

In general, you should start screening for any kind of cancer 10 years before the age when your relative was diagnosed. So, for instance, if your relative was 42 when she found breast cancer, you should start getting regular mammograms at age 32.

Since you have a history of breast cancer in your family you should ask your doctor at what age they think you should start screening, My middle daughter is 28 and has been screen already because her father died from it and now that I have it her doctor told her she should have a mammogram about every two years just to stay on the safe side.

You are too young for a mammogram (breast tissue reasons) but you are not too young for daily self breast exams (ask your doctor how to do them properly... most women dont) and ask for yearly ultrasounds.
