it makes sense to like both teams, because they both are rather phenomenal. if you're a baseball fan, then it makes sense...but you can't be a real fan of both the Yankees and sox. the rivalry is a HUGE part of liking the team. but if you're a baseball fan...like, legitimately a fan of the sport as a whole, it makes sense to like two great teams.
btw what do you do when the teams are playing each other?

I don't think you can love both teams. People are so anti-Yankees or Anti-Red Sox for a good reason- There's a huuuge history between those two teams!!!!!!! It's like trying to be diplomatic on a fight that's gone on for nearly a century.

But to answer your main question, I'm a Red Sox girl all the way :) I think the Yankees are stuck-up jerks and don't make the game more fun. They all look the same, and there's no chemistry among the players! They just bought into the whole fame and World Series thing when the Red Sox had a moment of stupidity and traded Babe Ruth to them. And yes, since I"m a Red Sox fan, I believe that there's a curse all the way and that the Yankees just got lucky that terrible day...seriously, if you do some research and watch some Red Sox things, there is no way you'll believe the curse isn't real. At least I think so, and I'm not normally a superstitious person at all, but this I really truly believe in.
The Red Sox have personality and fun, and they make the game so much more fun, all while playing amazing baseball. There is not a single Yankees player (exept for ex-Red Sox Johnny Damon) that I can believe is a nice person and more than just a stuck-up jock. Did you see what they made Johnny Damon do when he got traded to them? Part of Johnny Damon's charm was his Jesus hair!! And the second he got traded to the Yankees, they made him cut that wonderful hair, and now he looks like another stupid Yankee. Typical.

So anyway, I think that there is no middle ground. RED SOX ALL THE WAY!

I understand what you are saying. I am a born into it Red Sox fan, so that's a given. While I can't say I ever liked the Yankees, I used to respect them for their accomplishments and savvy, but I think lots of teams have caught up with them, including the Sox, and I don't think they'll b another "dynasty", at least anytime soon.

This has really brought out the worst in Yankees fans, especially the bandwagon ones, even though there are lots of hard core Yankee fans. All the vulgarity of this (and some of it brought on by bandwagon Red Sox fans too), has made me lose my respect for the bandwagon fans and wish the worst for the Yankees. Not because of the players, because the fans.

sadly, I don't see this changing anytime soon.

Sox and Sox only. There is no liking the Yanks if you're a Sox fan and vice versa. Liking both is like having your best friend also being your most hated enemy. It's a conflict of interest that can't and should never happen. Ever.

When your born a Boston fan, you're born to hate certain teams by default....Sox fans hate the Yankees, Bruins fans hate the Habs, Celtic fans hate the Lakers and Pats fans hate everyone in the AFC East including the Colts and especially the Dolphins. It's just the way it is.

okay you really need to pick one. that rivialy is just too great. do you not know the history of the sox and the yanks? you can like the yankees and some other teams, or the sox and some other teams but not both. WHY do you like both. they are complety different type of teams. even though the sox are sort of starting to become like the yankees but that is like me being a fan of both the phillies and the mets and that is crazy. you can like players on both the sox and the yanks, but as a team you really should pick one for the sake of your life. i mean what do you wear when they play each other? a sox shirt, and a yankees hat?

Im guessing that you only love these teams because you think all the players are total hotties. In which case, you have no right to say you are a Yankee or Red Sox fan. But if Im wrong, pick a side.

Sure they are both good teams NOW. But to like a team overall for only what it's done now belittles fanhood and logical judgement. The Yankees have always been great and will always be great. The Red Sox were great at the verrrrryyyy beginning and then sucked forever. Now that are great again for a short time. Comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges. 26 titles to 7. They need 19 more to compete. So to make my point clear you need to love the Yankees 26 times for every time you love the Sox. That means you're a Yankees fan. Please do what's best for everyone and dumb them.

that's like cheering for both the snake and the mongoose. If you are from the middle of Connecticut and of mixed birth (meaning one parent is a Yankee fan and one is a Red Sox fan) then your question is understandable. If not, pick one or the other or another team entirely. Continuing to cheer for both the Yankees and the Red Sox. You'll end up like the guy in the Stevenson novel, "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", nice guy doctor by day, hatchet murdering psycho by night. And if you can't pick which one is which, then you need to pick a new team to cheer for.

You can like whatever or whoever you want. Don't listen to the idiots that say you can only like one. I'm for teh RED SOX but I have a few friends who are Yankees fans and we're cool. the best part is arguing RED SOX vs. Yankees. I say enjoy both if you want...although the RED SOX are clearly better and since they're now working on a deal to get Johan Santana they'll be untouchable. Just sayin... ;^)

There may be no logic in your choice other then you being a bit of a front runner or just not knowing much about sports. Not trying to offend you it's just how I feel.

Where are you from? I'm BIG on routing for your home team I never understood how someone can be from Chicago and love the Cowboys or something like that.

Some advice you should just pick one , sox or yanks, cause your missing out on one of the best rivalries in sports.
