ok, when I went outside tonight and looked at the moon it had a huge cloud ring around it, like not just a hazy moon, it was the moon, which was all hazy, and then it was clear sky, then then this ring of cloud, (kinda creapy) my grandma says it means a big storm. is she right?

It is moonlight refracted by cirrostratus cloud. Cirrostratus cloud is very high and composed of ice crystalls rather than water droplets which form lower cloud. It is not an indicator of an approaching storm necesarily but more likely the approach of a warm front. Cirrostratus forms about 600miles ahead of the surface position of the warm front.

Sometimes the moon really has that kind of huge ring around and sometimes, you can even see rainbow in the form of a ring... that's a normal occurence in the universe, because there are times wherein there are lots of water ( vapor ) around the moon, and with the light of the moon, it forms a ring.

It may be a halo which is formed by the refration of light by ice crystals in the cirrostratus cloud. It is considered to be an indicator of an approaching storm as cirrostratus cloud sometimes forms before a storm approaches.

What you probably saw was the halo of the moon. It's caused by moonlight and a thin layer of hexagonal ice crystals between your eye and the moon. It is sort of similar to the rainbow affect you see when it rains.
