k my math teacher is such a jerk he comes in before class and talks to the students about random stuff then starts the class by writing a headline about what we've been doing last time and asking us what we know about it. So some students say different things and he sums it up and points to a problem that we don't know yet or an element we haven't covered yet and then he like leads the class through a proof or an example and asks us what we think happens next and like asks us what we think about that proof and where the big ideas in the proof were. Then he runs through an example and sets the good students a problem they can work on in class while he does another example for those who needs to see another example before they get to work on the problems too. He sets alternative harder questions people can choose to work on instead if they want to. He always allows questions to be asked and always answers them. He never sets reading homework and still everyone learns math. WHAT A JERK!!!

Wow, you know whatever your teacher is doing is called TEACHING. In fact, it is called TEACHING MATH. This is what math is all about. Your teacher sounds like an excellent mathematician. Seems to me that you are pissed off because he is doing actual math (which is all about proofs and NOT ABOUT ADDING NUMBERS) instead of just dumbing down math to adding and subtracting numbers.

Learn to deal with it and be happy that you actually have a good math teacher who actually teaches math in class.

From what you wrote, I take it he's an excellent teacher, he's really teaching Math and making his studentes think, instead of just doing things mechanically.

He is very gifted and you should feel priviledged to be in his class.
