A long time ago, I thought so when the love of my life divorced me. But I kept on keeping on and one day I realized NOBODY is going to have the power to take my dreams and hopes away from me.

Besides, if someone does that, they do not love you as much as you love them, perhaps not at all. There are those that will, and all they want is to see you achieve your hopes and dreams.

There comes a time in a persons life when they can blame no one but themselves for being exactly were and who they are. It sounds as if your at this point in your life. Either continue to blame your mother for who and were you are which is the easy way and you will end up just like her. Or realize you can be who and whatever you wish to become from this point on. You asked the question you did because you know all your mother says to you is for the purpose of controlling you. You don't need a father or a mother to be a smart, strong and wonderful person. One of the secrets to life is not to let negative energy from others enter you sweety. When some one says you cant, wont, or are not smart enough to do something don't listen, don't believe when people say mean things as well. You have to live with you no one else. You look at you and your life, if you like what you see good, if not change that which dose not say who you are. That is the great thing about being a person, we can always change and grow. No one can stop us from becoming bigger and better, only if we LET them! Good luck

I don't know. The girl I love left me completely heartbroken, and I'm still hopelessly in love with her. To be honest, my dreams and hopes revolve around her. So in a sense, she's destroyed them. But I don't give up... so I guess they're not completely smashed.
