Americans can't speak freely without being called racists
Criminals walk free among us without fear of being arrested
Illegals get more benefits than some Americans
We are required to adhere to the traditions of minorities but are banned from practicing our own
We are forced to feel sorry and ashamed to people who were not ever alive to be offended for atrocities that were done hundreds of years ago by people who we don't even know or have any direct relation to save the color of the skin.

Political correctness my as$ were just being duped and being used plain and simple.

no one's forcing you to feel anything...no one's forcing you to adhere to any traditions...let them call you racist, they have the right to, do you seriously think those highprofile criminals you speak of just trot around without a care in the world?

Yes we have. We have become a country with too many agencies telling us what is good for us.

Many of the answers above are dealing with the larger picture. But look at the smaller picture and you will see a different story. When I was much younger, I am told by my mother, I would sleep on the little platform behind the rear seat when driving back from a visit and I got sleepy. No police car pulled us over and gave my dad a ticket. If we were dumb enough to do that and we got hurt, that was our fault.

The rules and regulations from OSHA are so vast that it would take about 20 tractor trailers to deliver them to any one who would need them.

Fort Collins, CO dictates that any business that desires to put up lights for the "Holidays" (the word Christmas is a no-no because it might offend someone), the must use white lights only since red and green lights can be offensive.

I could go on, but you get the picture. I believe that politicians and special interest groups have taken it upon themselves to determine what is good for the majority. This is a far cry from the Founding Fathers ideals for our Country.

I speak freely all the time with no fear of being called a racist. Mainly because I do not say racist things. More to the point if someone does criticize something I say I am able to defend my point of view logically so I have no fear of criticism. After all those criticizing you are just exercising the same right.
Don't know any criminals so wouldn't know about this. Suggest you may want to make new friends.
I have never been banned from practicing any tradition - and am yet to be forced to practice anyone else's (not since they got rid of prayer in public school that is)
I do not feel ashamed of things done hundreds of years ago. I am ashamed that so many of my countrymen refuse to learn from this mistakes.

If I was an author, I wouldn't want to. I would take it as a compliment. It just means that fans love my characters, and writing so much that they want to continue it. It's completely natural for a person to enjoy a book, and then think "what if those characters had...?" or to wonder what happened after the story ends. They're not making money off fanfics anyway, so I don't see why it's such a big deal. Even if you do manage to stop fanfics, they'll just start again 70 years after you die, when your work becomes public domain.

You'd better face it, our beloved country is slowly becoming more and more socialist every day. You can thank the liberal walking dead here for their support of restorative justice (criminals getting second and third chances), open borders, benefit programs for illegals and pork-glutted tax proposals. They seem to embrace any policy that breaches traditional moral values. The likes of Kennedy, Reid, Durbin and Boxer are just a few of the left-wing platoon that always get re-elected by their mind-slaves.
Richard (above) is a perfect example of this....

wow....., you are not correct, you can say what you want, if you act like a racist you may be called a racist, act like a pig, maybe called a pig..., etc. Our country has the highest incarceration rate by far of any other society and criminals arent free. Illegals get no benefits seems like we dont either. We should respect minorities rights and traditions, the majority is not banned from anything, sorry no war on Christmas!! And we should remember our history so we dont repeat it and be ashamed for the things we are doing now!!!

The things you outlined are excuses for a totalitarian society.

You have some very good points, my friend. I think somewhere along the way we invented the word "tolerant" and we fell victims to it. I still think this is the greatest country on earth, though, we put up with everybody's crap, and still stay on top.
Nobody is politically correct at all times! That's a term the lawyers invented to make money. I think we should fire all the lawyers!

oho rah, some one with enough a$$ to tell it like it is ,
yes we have been duped into giving in to every minority and evil religion at the cost of our own freedom of religion and constitutional rights ,and it amazes me so many of our young brave men will go to other country's and fight and die for a perceived evil or freedom for those people , yet come home and be discriminated against and called dirty names by their own people, yet not make a stand for what is right in our own country, and for our lost freedom.

We have become victims to the ABUSE of laws that were created to protect us.

er... I don't remember anyone coming to my house with a gun making me do those things?

why do conservatives feel they have to bow to social pressures so much? are they that weak?

I can do most of the things you said you can't do and all I would get is dirty looks from people? who cares?
