If you spent this Thanksgiving alone, what did you do? Were you sad? Happy? Give me some ideas, drowning in my own self pity is quite a bore, but at the same time, I don't mind so much....

Who is out there? Did you do something different for Thanksgiving? What did you do to chase the boredom away of you were alone, or had no thanksgiving meal?

if you weren't alone, you'd have a pile of dishes to do right now, wouldn't you?

This was the very first Thanksgiving that I can remember being alone without all my children around me, they are all grown up now and have their own familys, I have alway in the past had them home for the "big meal" with the new husband, or new baby, or special G/F that they may have at the time, well this year, no one came over, partly because they wanted me to have a break of all the prep of foods and partly because I wanted to not have to cook up all that food this yr. too, but when this day finally arrived, it was sad, and I sat down and had a good cry, it was just not the same, I was invited to their home for the day, but just didnt want to go, my hubby and I had a quiet meal here alone.

I'm alone this Thanksgiving but I quite enjoyed myself. Don't wallow in self pity. I like to relax and reflect on the year and the things I've accomplished. And the things I wish to accomplish in the next.

Don't feel lonely - feel independent. Cook a several course turkey dinner for yourself. Or be a total rebel and instead prepare something special that you really like. Watch the parade and the holiday movies. Drag out your decorations and start decking out your pad.

When I lived back in Florida Thanksgiving was actually pretty stressful. My mom and dad would be belittling me. My brother's kids would be total brats. I really don't miss that at all! I do have a friend coming into town tomorrow and we'll eat leftovers together Saturday but I really did like this day to be thankful for what I have and what's to come and to spend exactly how I wanted to spend it!

I prepared a turkey casserole. It is always fun working with food. I entered more stuff on eBay. I am hoping to take advantage of Black Friday. We'll see if it applies to the Internet. I checked my Yahoo fantasy football team to make sure I am starting the best players I can this week. I cleaned the living room. I wrote a children's' story based on an experience driving a school bus.

I am glad I don't have to play the games such as: Look how special it all is. I am quite content alone. My family gives me enormous insecurities so I stay away from it.

I'm out here...oh, you were looking for "out there." I'm that, too, I guess.

I ate with friends instead of family. Thanksgiving takes too long. Too much work to keep a conversation going that long. I noticed that I felt more required to carry on conversation. Family you can just ignore after about 2 hours. Felt like pressure.

You're never alone. You're not now.

Plan tomorrow's shopping. I want a Wii. :-)

My dogs and I watched the dog show. It was great. An Australian Shepherd won best in show for the first time.
