Halo 3, 6 CPUs(More power than PS3), Xbox Live is greatest online experience to date, cheaper, variety of XBoxs(core or advanced), media-pictures, videos, and music can be stored and customized on 360, HD-DVD, Graphics are ARGUEABLY better than PS3(they're so close basically they're the same though), and you can play many original Xbox gmaes.

PS3 is a good choice if you mainly play sports games and watch movies. This is because it has Blu-Ray high def capability right out of the box. Also, it is a great DVD player. (Yes, cheaper DVD players will not have as good image quality).
But, there is one thing you should really be concerned about - the cheaper version of the ps3 will NOT play ps2 games. Keep that in mind.

Well the 360 is made by microsoft, who also made Vista so.......
The PS3 has better features
Like the ability to install a second OS like Linux. Which means you can run gba, nes, snes, and some other emulators. And sony actually supports it.
Plus to play games online with an xbox, you have to pay for an xbox live membership. Online gaming on the PS3 is free.

Better would be the Wii to play sports games. With the money you'll save, you can buy whatever DVD player you might want and it wouldn't be tied to a video game player. ( Combining many features in the same unit makes it more likely that one of them will malfunction and require downtime for all while it is repaired ).
