Oh my goodness - no! Sometimes if you do, you ruin the friendship. Ever see those shows where they build the sexual tension between two characters, then they get together, and the show tanks? Its pretty much like that in real life. It's so much better to have a healthy, flirtatious, I'll-never-sleep-with-you-relationship. Let's face it, you started off as friends for a reason - don't mix that with a relationship or sex! You (or he) will be left leaving in an awkward situation saying, "I never wanted to hurt you." And you'll likely never speak again.

It doesn't have to, but it depends on how close you get. A lot of the time, friends of the opposite sex end up being more than just friends.

No. I am close friends with a woman, who I work out with and occasionally help out with her business. There has never even been one of those awkward moments where you think that something is about to happen.
Of course the fact that we are both married, Christians, and our spouses are all friends too, helps. Not only would I never think of betraying my wife, I would never dream of ruining her family at the same time!

No. No one has to do anything. There is no law written that states two people of the opposite sex being friends has to become intimate.

no, absolutely not, but sometimes when friendship between male and female get that close, they do tend to fall in love or want mor from each other, or just one of them will, and the other still wants to be just friends and one ends up hurt, and the friendship is never the same.

I would say at least 75% of the time it leads to that. I'm talking here about a close and long-period relationship.

No you don't. It's actually a sign of great maturity and great respect for your friendship if you can handle a situation like that without sex.
