How do I get involved with this? I want to be a secret shopper. I heard that you get paid for the shop, as well as reimbursed for the stuff you buy. Yay for free stuff! :) Any references on where to start?

A lot of the secret shopper sites are total scams. I found out about one through Reader's Digest, and have been doing shops for them for about 3 or 4 months. I'm not making a ton of money, but it's all about how many shops you do. The website is shopnchek.com, and they are a reputable company. They pay you for your time (usually not a lot of money) and then will also reimburse you for your purchase, up to a limit. It's fun though, and gives me a little extra cash.

my friend does it and she started by just googling secret shopper and found web sites from there

Don't believe the Internet sites that tell you this, they are scams.
Some stores do hire their own "secret shoppers".

I answewred an ad at the state employment office. That stuff you get off the SPAM e-mail is a scam.
