My 15 year old daughter just got pregnant. She lives with her mother. Do I still have to pay child support once she gives birth or isn't there something about the fact that she is now considered an adult in the eyes of the law?

OKAY, FOR ALL YOU TARDS WHO THINK I AM TRYING TO GET OUT OF MY SUPPORT BECAUSE I AM SOME DEAD BEAT... KNOW THIS. MY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER (WHO JUST TURNED 15 BY THE WAY) JUST BURNED DOWN HER MOTHERS HOUSE AFTER HER MOTHER FOUND OUT IN THE DELIVERY ROOM THAT THE CHILD SHE CARRIED WAS FROM A MEXICAN WHO LIVES IN HER TOWN (HE'S 36) AND AN ILLEGAL ALLIEN WHO LIVES WITH HIS MOTHER. SO, SHE GOT BACK HOME, BURNED THEIR HOUSE TO THE GROUND AND IS NOW ON THE RUN WITH THIS MEXICAN. WHO BY THE WAY IS UP FOR RAPE CHARGES... SO, YEAH... I'M KINDA DONE WITH SUPPORTING HER. IF YOU STILL HAVE A PROBLEM KNOWING ALL THAT... THEN KISS MY *** AND DON'T ANSWER.

If she is not going to school.
If she is not living with the person you are paying CS to.
Then child support can end.

~Immediately file for emancipation.~

File immediately and give proof of everything.
The only thing that could hold this up is if you have any arrears. But if you get this child emancipated then child support will end and all you will pay is on the arrears.
Do pay the arrears cause they can still put you in jail if you don't pay them.

I hear what you're saying. You have a kid who just had a kid.
Not bad enough, she's mad so burns down moms house. Guess she won't have a home to come back to when she finally has had enough of playing.

Your daughter is 15 yrs old and still a minor. Don't think it matters if she had a baby or not. Have to remember, every state is different. You're a minor until 18 yrs. You're going to have to check out different state laws to get your answers. However, I do think irregardless of having a baby, she's still a minor. Keep making the child payments until you hear differently.

The Law will catch up with your daughter. It will either be Juvenile Detention or Lock Up. At least you and her mom will know where she is. Lets hope it happens soon. She obviously has anger problems along with behavior problems.
Hopefully, then she'll get some help.

This sounds all too familiar. Hang in there.

No, you still have to pay..... she still needs money to live. she is going to have a child..but, she is a child having a child....... she is not an adult yet!
good question though :-)
only 3 more years of paying!

she's not living with the mother--but, in the eyes of the child support agency...she is just a run away........... she still 'officially' lives with the mother.... You could always call a lawyer on this..or the C.S office---I don't think this is the place to answer..because these are just 'opinions'.

Not sure the answer to the question, but I would make sure if she gets state aid,,,TANF and Medicaid,,, they know you are contributing to that household. Then they can seek help from the soon to be father and not you. But in some circumstances you may be obligated to continue the child support and sometimes until they are 23 and in college full time.

If you're a male, expect to have to keep paying. In a hypothetical "fair" world, everything would be different....

I like your style, Jason. And know what? I believe you. Things like this happen everyday, and worse. But they're scrubbed out of the news in the interest of politcal correctness, and mindwashing the public into the crazed notion that all are equals, at any cost, be it flushing truth or whatever.

It is my understanding that regardless of her parental state, her support is your responsibility until she is 18. I am at a loss to understand what kind of coward doesn't want to support his child. I'll bet too that the father of her baby is a deadbeat in your eyes if he doesn't step up. To be honest, you should be the stronger and wiser parent and continue to pay your child support, and stop whining.

Giving birth doesn't take away your status as father, it just makes you a grandfather! She's still a minor by age, not by pregnancy. You would think she could use all the help she could get, really.

No, I think you still have to pay child support until she is 18 or until she marries...

Best to check with your lawyer to make sure!

IN some jurisdictions when a minor has a child themselves, the minor has emancipated themselves. Check with a lawyer in your state.
