I beleive God gives us sense enough to be prepared for hard times so for the most part we provide for our own earthly needs then let God pick up the slack when we can't. What are your thoughts on this?

Considering what use to be fall out shelters in the 50's God had nothing to do with that, but the people were stocking up for a Nuclear Disaster./

Underg round bomb shelters were built on propertiy's of several homes, but the truth of the matter is that God will take acre of drunks ands fools that have nothing and take care of those who do as well.
Trust in God is worth it all.

I had a 2000 Ford Truck stole from me and this truck ended up in a chop shop and the next day the chop shop burned down to the ground. The work of God?
God will persecute thine enemies?

Who is really to say, but their nightmares have just begun. I was there before Thanksgiving and they have to locate my truck despite their losses in the fire. I paid an informant $1,000.00 for the in formation.
Local friends say the fire was set to hide up their operation.

define "god" and define the process of "providing for you".

then you will have your answer.

this unseen force will, find me a job? give me money and give me shelter? never, its always been a result of my strategic planning and action and chance.

has that ever happend before? no, it was a game of odds.
well then what is the likeliness that that will happen again?nil

so are we justified in believeing such a staement is true? hardly, the evidence from experiance suggests strongly not the case.

Your position is precisely Immanuel Kant's: "Do one's best, and let God provide the rest."

"Hard times" are "avalanche events."

"Learn to earn."

God helps only those who help themselves. I have yet to come across such great faith in God that a person can leave Everything to God.

there's ths saying to us Filipinos "sa diyos and awa sa tao ang gawa", meaning god takes care of those who take care of themselves, like, god will give you the thought but it's up to youn to do the act and be successful in it. you do not rely to god that he will do things for you. =) so i think that it holds true for people. it's not really god's responsibility to give us everything because in the end it's is us who controls our life and make things happen, whether it be through rough and easy part of our lives. =)
