Yes. Just stay away from the litterbox. Now you have a good excuse to pass on that job to your bf!

You're doing the right thing with having your boyfriend clean the litter box.
It's ok to pet her. If you're worried about it, wash your hands after petting her.
Cats don't weigh enough to cause problems, so it's ok if she lies in her lap or on your belly or chest.
Many people say that it's a bad idea to have a kitten around a newborn baby, due to claws or the kitten wanting to suffocate the baby. Declawing the cat, essentially, cripples the cat. Look at your hands. Do you see the last knuckle before your nail? That is how much the vet cuts off each of the cat's digits. The cat then has to walk on these painful cuts until the cuts heal over, all while walking to eat, use the bathroom, etc.
If you're worried about how the kitten will interact with the kitten, do what my parents did (they had a cat and a dog when I was born): keep an eye on the baby and/or pet. Put up a pet gate to the baby's room so that the kitten can't get in. At night, when both you and the baby are sleeping, you could keep the baby's crib in your bedroom or close the door to the baby's room.

Yes it is perfectly ok to be around the kitten (it's good your boyfriend is cleaning the litter box while you're pregnant though). As a matter of fact, recent research has shown that kids who grow up with family pets end up having less problems with allergies.

Yes being around cats is safe. Just don't change the litter.

The problem, in case you are wondering, with cats, litterboxes and pregnancy is toxoplamosis. This is caused by the parasite, toxoplama gondii that is shed in the feces of the infected cat.
It is absolutely imparitive that you stay clear of the cat box and its droppings as preganant mothers and infants born to infected pregnant mothers are at the highest risk.

cats are not safe around babies because they get extremely jealous plus they try to clean the babies but end up suffocating them.
just keep the baby and cat away from each other and things will be fine.
The litter boxes even make me feel sick so you definitely stay away from them and make sure they are cleaned at least every day more if possible.

Like everyone has said, it's fine to be around her, especially if you wash your hands after petting her & before eating. To possibly put your mind at rest, you can get a blood test to see if you've been exposed to toxoplasmosis already. If so, there's even less risk. Ask your GP if you're interested.

Yes. Don't handle the litter. I would talk to the vet right away and tell him you are pg. Tell your gyne also. It might be wise to get kitty declawed and up to date with it's shots.
