A long time ago..when I did automatic writing for awhile (I don't do it anymore and regret doing it)..."they" told me that there were "joker spirits". ...I'm jus sayin' what they said...don't hold it against me!!(I don't think I wrote that myself because I didn't know about joker spirits)

I think that there are a good amount of "Joker" spirits out there. People who are always looking for a good laugh probably would be the best candidates for becoming a Joker in the afterlife. A fun loving attitude would transfer quite easily the same way a grumpy or evil person would become annoying or malevolent in spirit form.

Having an upbeat attitude in life probably keeps the spirit a bit more conscious because it wasn't fixated on problems or an event, therefore it realizes it can actually keep having fun by hiding small items, rearranging things and even playing peek-a-boo, sometimes to your delight or frustration depending on how much you can put up with.

Why do people who don't know anything about this ALWAYS think it's evil stuff? First, I'm glad you learned your lesson about automatic writing! Next, of course there's joker spirits! Their people that are jokers and when they die there spirit is the same, so if they liked to tease in life they would like to tease in spirit! When you die you don't sprout wings and change into an angel. You stay the same way you are now, so if your spirit is a joker now, you'll be a joker then.Would you call someone who does practical joke that's alive evil? I wouldn't!!!!!!!!

Years ago I was coming home from work. It was a typical day and I had been paid. being a creature of habit I had withdrawn enough money from the bank to fill up the car with fuel, buy grceries and pay rent. first stop was the petrol station. As I was opening the gas tank I got the overwhelming urg to only put $5 in the tank, this would give me enough fuel to go home and go to work in the morning and then refuel. I was almost having an arguement with myself as to what to do but this urge took over and I only put $5 in. Ok so now I am walking into the petrol shop to pay when I spy a pyramid of engine oil and again I was almost 'told" to get 4 litre container. So I did but not with out questioning myself that I already had oil in the boot. So I set off but I got really lost and as a result turned down a side road. I remember sitting at this road when I heard this voice - it was smooth and convincing telling me to go because people were waiting for me so I put my foot down and went through a give away sign. I remember waking to find myself on an ambulance bed and told I had had a car accident. I had 8 multiple farctured ribs and my hair was covered in glass - my car was a total right off and every window was smashed with glass on me and littered down the road. apparently I had rolled the car twice. the odd thing was that the car oil I had purchased prior the accident and tossed on the passenger seat had exploded and coated me in a protctive coating of oil so the glass just slip off and I was not scared. The rolling of the car may of turned out differently had there of been a full tank of petrol in the tank and not 6 litres. My view is that there was a good spirit helping me but a bad one telling me to drive. The area I was in was reknown for car accidents. There is a poular view that other spirits get lonely and cause accidents, this might account for a stretch of road taht has one accident and then a string of accidents occur. All culture's hold the view that there are mischievious spirits playing pranks even greek mythology has a view that the gods were getting their entertainment at the down fall of human beings.

So yes I do believe that there are spirits that play pranks on people and that these "jokes" can be quite deadly. But I also believe there are spirits that protect and help and if you can tune in you will be better for it.

yes (AKA elementals, "gnomes", possibly some poltergeists)

But I recon they can only become a problem if you don't have a clue how to deal with them.

IMHO there's 3 ways of dealing with them.
Ignore them completely, so they choose to "prank" someone else
Invoke the supernatural equivalent of a big stick (eg invoking a supernatural power far greater than they are), to "bully" them into leaving you alone.
or finding them something to occupy their time and prevent them getting bored.

Modern forms of the 3rd solution (it's traditional, and illustrated in stories like the Elves' and the shoemaker), would run as having "them" "organise" your socks, or even making sure you always have a working pen near at hand.

I believe that there are Deities who are tricksters/Jokers. I see them as being different from "joker spirits". (ghosts being something different too) Deity only pull "tricks" when you need to learn something. "joker spirits" do it simply to annoy/attract attention.

Spirits are people's souls, without bodies. They have personalities, like you. Of course they have jokes. Some spirits are damned. Some are wandering. Some never got bodies, because they are the third of our bros and sis's that sided with Satan before the world was made. Some have found work, so they dont have time or inclination to bug the humans with bodies (and in fact, its kinda frowned upon in the ghost world to play with human minds, so ghosts we know about are kinda outlaws in the ghost world), But ghosts live here, on the earths surface (Live,so to speak). They see us, and know all about us. Some of them watch out for us, usually family connected.

I've had one "supernatural" experience in my life. I was boiling a pot of water to cook macaroni one night, and when I reached for the handle of the pot, it rotated away from my fingers just as they got within a half inch of it. I froze, then again moved my fingers toward the handle, and it again turned away just as my fingers neared it--perfectly in time with the movement of my hand. Totally shocked, and not quite believing what I just saw, I forcibly grabbed the handle with my other hand and turned it back to where it had been initially, then just to see if it would do it again, I tentatively reached for it as I had done before, and sure enough, the pot turned, scooting the handle out of my reach. It was then that I freaked out completely and my friend who was over at the time thought I was totally nuts. Seriously, though, it was scooting away just as I was reaching for it, like it was teasing me.

Anyway, that's my only "ghostly" experience, and if it WAS a spirit moving that pot, then he was certainly a joker, because it wasn't scary, it was just... totally bizarre.

I think there's something to the idea. Many societies in history have included "Jokesters" in their pantheons: think Loki in Norse mythology and Coyote among the native Americans of the Southwest. And of course there is the "clown of God" in the Christian tradition. I like the idea of spirit beings with a sense of humor!

Yes, I do. There was a spirit who used to hide the car keys just when my dad used to have to go out and we'd spend about an hour trying to find them. It happend many times. We prayed to God for help, that is how you get rid of them or make them not bother you so much. Prayer.

Yes. I lived in a house that the ghost was always screwing with us. He got a kick out of scaring people out of the house. If he found out that you were afraid him he would pick on you no end. I had a few friends that would not come in the house, they would stand out on the side walk and yell at me to come outside.
