To the poster who complained about racism. On the contray, there isn't much discrimination at all. I just wouldn't vote for him since he isn't conservative enough.

Excuse my igorance, but it was my impression that tokenism was the installation of a member of a racial or ethnic minority into a position by a member of the majority race or ethnicity as a token of their claim of fairness. If an Obama presidency were to occur, it wouldn't encourage tokenism, it would probably discourage tokenism.

Having Obama in the White House would have a HUGE impact. Not only would we be led by a Democrat, but one that is actually honest. One that has actually been down with us middle-class folk, if not lower. Teachers would have higher salaries, the war would end, foreign negotiations would take place where we may not be all that popular (Just about everywhere), women will have more support, single parents would have more support, babies, children, and college students would have more support, those in need of proper heathcare would have support.
Barack Obama would bring a huge change.
I'm fired up and ready to go. I'm glad that America is finally tagging along.
Hillary is losing support FAST nationwide. We will win the Democratic ticket and we will win the White House!
OBAMA '08!

To the poster above there is no such thing as reverse discrimination, simply discrimination. The reverse or opposite of discrimination of tolerance.
As to the question regarding tokenism. No, I wouldn't see how he would encourage tokenism simply by being a black man in the White House.

If elected he won the popular vote. How would tokenism be even an issue.

Perhaps, but I think he would encourage unity for a lot of us who want to put all that behind us. I'm not saying I'm voting for him, but I think either Obama or Colin Powell could pull off being president without that sort of hitch. I'm certainly ready for a black or woman president.

Oh PLeeeze! Obama isn't playing the race card, why would you? He is an American, running for the toughest job in town. Look at his bio, this fellow has overcome a lot to get here. Stupidity is not one of the things he is guilty of.
