It depends on what you consider large. Starfish, for example, can get up to a foot across and they can reproduce asexually. If an arm breaks off it can grow into a new starfish. And some very tiny organisms do reproduce sexually--insects so small you can barely see the reproduce sexually. Other microscopic organisms can reproduce sexually or asexually like certain bacteria or algae.

Asexual reproduction is more suitable to simpler organisms than animals. Asexual reproduction is, essentially cloning: dividing an organism and letting both parts grow back into a full organism. Some large organisms can do this; I think all plants can be cloned, though not all of them do it easily. This is what you do when you take a cutting of a plant and grow another plant from it.
Animals have mostly lost the ability to reproduce asexually. Their organ systems are too complicated to survive it. There are some animals that can reproduce by parthenogenesis in the absence of a male, but this is the backup method, not the main one.

You would need to define "large" and "small" animals.

Some animals I think you refer as large do have the ability to reproduce asexually. Certain sharks, frogs, or even komodo can sometimes have virgin birth (or parthenogenesis).

Meanwhile, the little organisms, such as insects, even microorganisms, can often reproduce sexually. Those who don't probably just don't have the organs to produce sperms and egg cells.

Large animals are born with sex organs to reproduce sexually.
Tiny organisms have no sex organs, so they cannot reproduce sexually.
