March of 2008 you need a passport to go in to Canada or Mexico. I believe that people that work across the border can get a federal ID instead of a passport.

There is no such id card. It was attempted in congress but failed last year.

Hmmmm, I have my Military retiree Federal ID Card.

I hadn't heard that there was any required ID coming out.
