I don't think the real young ones really understand because of all the adds they see on TV. Very few adds if any ever use the name Jesus so how would the relate it to Christmas. As the children get older its our fault if the have not learned what Christmas is for. So I think there is enough blame to go around

With my grandkids Christmas is mostly about presents. In our family it is like two separate Christmas celebrations. One is celebrating Christ and attending our church services. The other one is Santa Claus and presents. I think the adults are as interested in the commercial version of Christmas as the children are. Yes, I'm guilty too.

I think it is very sad to see how Christmas has changed over the years, yes indeed,it is too commercialized,it is all about the MONEY! Jesus is being left out completely in almost all aspects.I think children get entirely too much nowadays. When I was young,we relied on our imagination for our entertainment and I think we were much happier and we participated in Christmas plays and things of that nature.

We brought our children up knowing the true meaning of Christmas. We must have done a good job, because they are now raising their children to know the true meaning of Christmas. Yes we exchange presents, but not before going to Church and worshiping our Lord and Savior.

"Kids" today think about Christmas the same way I thought about Christmas when I was a six-year-old. Girls wanted a doll and a pretty dress. Boys wanted a train and a Red Rider BB gun.

Today, "kids" still have wishes; their wishes just cost more money!

Kids know what they are taught. It's up to parents to teach them the true "reason for the season"...yet still allow them to enjoy the magic of Santa and lights

They're kids, what do they care about the religious aspects of Christmas? I didn't, I just wanted new toys. I didn't care that Easter was Jesus' resurrection, all I knew about was bunnies and candy. Let them be kids. As they get older, they'll understand the meaning behind it, like I did.

Yes , I think kids now (not all but some) see it as a way to haul in a new load of stuff. They use it for a little while and soon tire of it.
