I think that Super Mario World for the SNES has sold the most video game copies in history. I thought that I read in a gaming magazine or something a little while back that said the Super Mario World has sold the most copies of any game, but I could could be wrong.

Super Mario Bros. for the NES, if you include games packaged with a console (it sold 40.23 million). If you don't count packaged games, then Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES sold the most (18 Million), unless you count Pokemon Red,Blue, and Green as one game, which together sold about 20 Million.

Actually, halo three just topped the charts for a council game, and I'm sure that as far as computer games go, that world of warcraft would rank number one. Games break these records every five to six years it seems, but for now, halo three is top dog.
