I always drive with my headlights on, regardless of the weather or time of day.... I am always shaking my head at the number of drivers who do not have their headlights or tail lights on at night, or when it's raining or other adverse conditions.... it just makes sense to ALWAYS have your headlights on... but remember... watch those high beams! See that blue light on your dash? Should your high beams be on at the given time? Huh? Think about it!

So... it never RAINS in the summer where you live? ok... and not everyone drives NEW vehicles... and some vehicles have daytime-running lights, but that doesn't always turn on tail lights... unless you KNOW that your head and tail lights are always on, there is no valid argument for not turning your lights on... it's just a good habit.

People don't realize that it's not about being able to see in the daytime... it's about making sure that the OTHER guy can see YOU.... headlights help that tremendously. You wouldn't believe how many numbnuts drive in fog with no lights...

My 1978 motorcycle has headlight on except for starting relays/switchs. A 2001 GM van has automatic headlight switch- outside light gets below a set level and lights come on- dusk to dawn, fog or rainy weather the headlights will turn on automaticly so I tend to drive lights on in morning. Friend's 2008(?) GM has headlights on like the motorcycle- if engine is running the charge relay has headlights or running light in headlight cover on- there is no 'off' switch setting. .

My car has a set of lights that come on when the engine does. Most of the time I do drive with the headlights during the day. Even though no one else around here does, I definitely have them on in bad weather (fog, rain, etc), at dusk and after dark.

Our vehicles have automatic daytime lights. Missouri legislators passed laws this past year requiring headlamps on 20 minutes before sunset/sunrise and during rain/foggy conditions.
As soon as I read the information many years ago, implemented it before having a vehicle with daytime lights.
I'd rather err on the safety side.

Because the surrounding light is of similar or equal strength to the headlights and since the light is already there, you cannot tell apart the beam lights and the sunlight. everything is illuminated.

Summer time you dont need to keep ur lights on??!!! doesn't make any sense!!! However all new cars are provided with auto lighting control (sunlight sensor) that turns the second lights on all times and Headlgiths ON when u get into tunnels or dark areas.

I agree.
My 2007 has an automatic light switch so the lights are on all the time.
I just feel safer since I know there are too many really unsafe drivers out there.

I don't see the point of having them on during the day!?
My friend always used to forget to turn hers on and i used to be in the car with her and never notice.
I've never done it.

Yep, my lights are always on. Safer, just in case. I hate when people drive in fog or dim light with no lights.

I do see your point. I don't usually drive with my headlights on unless it's foggy, rainy or dark.
