Oil and grease from the undersides of cars.
Oil, grease, dirt, and tiny particles of rubber from the tires of the cars.
Smoke from car exhaust - it might appear clear in the air, but it is actually made up of tiny dust particles that collect together in snow or slush.
Sand and salt from snow removal vehicles - mixed with snow it can appear greyish.
