Music on hold is complicated by the fact that you have to have hold circuits (that release when a phone is picked up or a button pushed) and you have to protect the phone company people from being electrocuted by your mistakes. If you just want music to play when someone sets the phone down, then the little box that Radio Shack sells that takes a phone line and connects it to a recorder can be used in reverse. If you want to actually have the hold, then it might work with the box they sell for doing hold.
A lot easier to contact a business phone unit and ask about buying a phone music on hold device.
