There are probably tidal pools somewhere with unique ecosystems, which, if eliminated, would not affect us. Large ecosystems tend to intertwine with each other, and have a dependence on other systems. Such as rain forests, oceans and typhoons, etc.
If we eliminate or disrupt any one particular large ecosystem, we see a new balance trying to be achieved, such as is happening with Global warming. We can only hope that, whenever a balance is achieved, we will be part of the equation.
Mosquitoes do not serve any purpose for us. We feed them. They are a food source for other insects, spiders, birds etc. We are a protein source for them during their reproductive cycle. They don't have to justify their existence, anymore than we do.

I dont think there's an ecosystem that we can afford to lose. Everything depends on everything else, any imbalance may cause anihilation of other living things.
As for the mosquito, well mosquito's may be considered as pests by humans and other large mammals but they are food for others like frogs, spiders and other animals.
The ecosystem is a delicate balance that must be maintained in order for the whole world to survive. Its a sort of live and let live situation.
hope that helps :)

Realistically animals want a habitat wherein they thrive as facet of the usual environment. Unfortunately as anyone earlier than has mentioned, that simply is not feasible in plenty of instances. Sometimes farmers will absorb horses, we now have performed so - man or woman charity is one likelihood. Fundraising is an extra whether or not by way of exposure or ventures like ecotourism. On the entire although the difficulty is that there's a gigantic festival for land assets and any "purchaser" that can not pay its method goes to lose out. And that entails horses. Unfortunately a truly resolution entails gigantic fiscal shifts and shifts in human priorities toward the environment, considering the fact that what you describe going down to these horses is only one symptom of that gigantic venture all of us face.

we cant really afford to lose any ecosystems. everything serves a purpose. in one of my biology classes we discussed keystone species, which are organisms, which can be a plant or animal, that dont seem to serve any direct purpose to us as humans, but if they were removed completely, the whole balance of an entire ecosystem would be thrown off. there are scientists who study these types of relationships.
as for mosquitoes, they seem to be pests and disease carrying vectors, ut they are food sources for other animals who, if they were removed from the ecosystem, would cause a chain reaction that would eventually lead to humans and affect us somehow.
also mosquitoes are being studied because of their tiny needle-like nose that they stick into us, and also because of a natural blood thinner they inject into us.

All are with great importance. It is a natural system consisting of all plants, animals and microorganisms in an area functioning together with all the non-living physical factors of the environment.
Mosquito maintains the food chain of the environment. Small fish depend on the mosquito as an important link in the food chain. Even one species that removed in our environment, there will be major disturbance in our environment.
Extinction of species is one of the reason of global warming we are experiencing now.
