I have to say that he has bad intentions. There is no way that you should get a raise after only two weeks, nomatter how good you are. And if he tells you not to tell anyone, he obviously knows he is doing something wrong and is ashamed of anyone finding out. If you sense that he is trying to manipulate you with money (trust your gut, it is always right), I say start going to interviews and get a new job.

That's the policy in all companies. It could cause very hard feelings if a long time employee found out that someone new was getting raises when the old guy wasn't.

It either means that (A) he esteems your work and your effectiveness in the job context and does not want you to provide the information about your raise to your coworkers lest they should expect the same thing....Or, (B) has strange hidden motives in providing you with a raise.....and no one but he would be able to advise you what those are.

that means if u told anybody they would either get mad at you, because they didnt get a raise, or he said that, because he wouldnt want other people coming up to him, asking why he gave u a raise, and not them, OR, they could ask for a raise from him, then saying that u got a raise, why cant I, so.. hope that helps.... im only 13 years old.. lol

Perhaps you completed the training period. It's always best to never discuss your income with others, except for those that have a need to know, such as maybe your parents(if you are a minor), Certified Public Accountant, etc. Your friends and co-workers do not fit in the need to know category.

it means he does not want the other employees to know you got a raise so soon on the job.........so you should not discuss what you make with anyone at work
