I have helped my boyfriend to sign up 2 mobile lines under my account which he claimed he would pay the bill, however he did not and the bill have been chalked up to at least SGD1.1k. He had borrowed my brand new mobile phone with charger which he did not return me and he claimed he have help me sold my Xbox 360 core console at SGD350 which he also didnt give me. We have a written IOU but I'm not sure if it's valid cos it's only between the both of us. I have made a police report as well. He have hired a lawyer which he claimed is to go thru a proper channel to return me my money and stuff, I have not received any letter from the lawyer but have spoken to the lawyer over the phone. The lawyer requested me over the phone to email him the list of thing I am claiming against his client and will go through which one his client should return. Should I just email the lawyer or request the lawyer to write to me to ask for my letter of demand? Or should I go ahead to Small Claim Triburnal?

I'd go ahead and give the lawyer the list, yes. Then hopefully anything the other guy doesn't dispute is yours you will get back.

Anything you don't get back through the lawyer you can then sue for in small claims.

by "SGD" do you mean Singapore Dollars? If so, I've attached a link to the Singapore small claims process.

Your bf does not pay you but can afford a lawyer?!
Are you sure the lawyer is legitimate?

You should proceed to try settling privately between yourselfs or thru the lawyers.

Perhaps Small Claim Tribunal does not handle private, and non-"commercial" matters.
