8 hours of a whole potatoe resting on bone would not generate enough 'shearing' force to break wrist bones or any larger than wrist bones.

A potatoe could potentially break the bones of your inner ear since they are so fragile.

Over months, the weight of a potato could impair circulation in the tissue and cause tissue death called necrosis. The death of flesh would seem like warp speed compared to the length of time it would take the potato to kill and break the bone tissue if the bone ever did break. It is likely the potato would rot into a puddle of moldy mush before it's weight had any significant effect on the bone.

If you fired a potato at the speed of light it would go right through you without even slowing down. Any bones in the way would be pulverized. Everything else would be vaporized.

If it's velocity is great enough when it strikes a bone ... for sure. The same goes for a feather or a pillow.

I would think it could if it had enough momentum.
