Home IS where the Heart is. Any building can be shelter or a house but it has to have love to be home. Does not have to have anyone in it with you. It just has to have love.

"home" has emotions associated with it. A home includes feelings of warmth and security. "house" or "dwelling" don't include such feelings or emotions (I am sure you knew this already).

In many cases, during the second world war, people would stay in their home rather than go to bomb shelters. Dogs will travel across the country to return to their "home" even though the family has moved to a new address. Soldiers will heal much faster at "home" compared to hospitals in foreign lands.
Warmth and security are the basis of 'home'.

Home is a place you consider your own place...you can go there any time and you will be welcomed. It can be where you grew up or where you live now. I think it probably has to be a house.

I associate it with my family, either my parents or my own family--husband and child. It took a long time after I got married before I started thinking of my husbands and my house our "home." In fact I still call my parent's house home. I will say to my husband, "I think I'm going home this weekend" even though we have our own house we built and have lived in for 15 years!
