How old you just made a LOT of us feel---including myself!!!! I was in 8th grade Science class.... our class clown came bounding in LATE as usual telling people the President had been shot... of course NO ONE believed him... a few seconds later, the Principal came over the PA system to tell us all that President Kennedy was dead and that school was being dismissed immediately... I remember sitting in front of our small tv set during the ENTIRE death and funeral broadcast...crying like a baby... I was at that impressionable age of 13 and at that time was madly in "love" with John Kennedy... To this day, I cannot watch ANY of the old footage from that time when they show it on TV without shedding a tear ---after 44 YEARS....

I still do remember. I was driving my car to to the post office when I was listening to the news. I got shocked because Kennedy had such a good repuation in Germany 9where I lived back then) because he said: "I am a Berliner".
Isn't there anyone who did not watch Kennedy and Jackie? even afterwards?

Btw.: I got married t a Robert Kennedy a couple years later. Of course not "that" Kennedy, but this is also the reason why I always remember Predident Kennedy.

Take care and do not worry to be the oldest one on here.

I was at the movies. I was in the 10th grade at Forrest Sherman High School, Naples, Italy. My dad was a Major in the US Air Force. I got home at about 7 or 8. I walked in talking about the movie and for the first time in my life my dad told me to shut up and listen for once. We were listening to Armed Forces Radio in English and watching what was going on on Italian TV. I don't think anyone moved away from either the TV or the radio until Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald. I watched the funeral on TV in Naples also. I remember the caisson, the backwards boots, and John-John saluting. That November 22nd is our generations day of infamy.

For those reasons I always think of JFK and Thanksgiving as the same day. Even though Thanksgiving is always the 4th Thursday in November, it seems to always fall on the 22nd to me.

Oh yes,I was my second grade classroom when many teachers gathered outside the door. They were all crying and no one explained "why?". Moments later , an intercom message came from the principal to gather our things and go home!(Remember, this was a time when we all feared nuclear war!) I was TERRIFIED! I ran all the way home to find my mother crying in front of the TV.She then explained what had happened.

I was surfing and playing beach volleyball at South Mission Beach, San Diego, California. When I heard the sad news, I yelled out an obscenity, because I was so damn mad, mad that someone or some organization had taken the life of our beloved president. Due to the U.S. government's distortion and planned cover-up of the assination, we will never know the real killer or killers. John F. Kennedy was a real Democrat, not like the leftist/liberal/socialists who call themselves Democrats today. If he were running for president today, he would win by a landslide!

6th grade in the deep south. Principal announced assassination over the loud speaker.
Having lived in Dallas over 30 years, the memories of that day are evident at Thanksgiving Square and the 6th Floor Museum. The Dallas Morning News had several poignant articles in today's edition to commemorate that tragic event.

I was not born at that time and I live in Canada. But I will never forget the stories from my mother all the time I was growing up. She said that all in Canada were crying and mourning and all loved him and his policies. The research I've done about him, I have the opinion that what the world needs today is another JFK......Peace!

I was just 4 years old ( gee I was cute) but anyway I remember watching it on the news on the old big black and white Zenith TV back then and seeing Jackie O in that hat and matching coat.

I was sitting on my aunt's bed in NYC when the announcement came on the tv set in her room. I felt such an overwhelming saddness and began to cry. I was only 8 years old but it was as if my own family member had died and to this day it makes me feel sad just thinking about it.
