These are the ratings (out of 10) www.ign.com gave these two games (I always go here for cheats, guides, reviews, previews, videos, etc.).
Super Mario 64:
9.8 (Incredible)
Super Mario Galaxy:
9.7 (Incredible)
That should give you an idea of how good the game is. As for my opinion, I'm hopefully getting the game tommorow, so I'll see how I like it for myself.

It's a tie between Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario 64.

To say it is the best is an opinion. But it is the longest,the best graphical,coolest Mario I have ever played. If you are a wii owner, this game is a must have. Buy it, play it, then answer your own question.

I thought it was okay .. I mean -- it's not the greatest. I'd still buy it because because I'm a Mario freak.

i would tie it wit super mario 64. they are both better than eachother in diffrent parts so i would say they even out

I liked better than 64. Maybe SMB3 was a little better
