do a back ground check before they call you in for a interview? I passed my 1st and 2nd interview and the manager said that someone will call me back Friday if I pass my d/a test. I know I will pass it. But she didn't mention a criminal background check. I was arrested 3 years ago on a felony that was dropped to a misdemeanor and I had to do 6 six probation. I remember signing the consent at the 2nd interview but she said nothing about doing a back ground check. So I was wondering if Wal-Mart conducts the check before they call you in for a interview?

Not Wal-Mart they spend about $1600.00 to hire and train a person to work there and they started doing background checks about 2 years ago so yes they do it and it does cost alot of money to hire anyone wanting to work there

I believe they do a background check and I am positive they do a drug test. I just can't remember for sure about the background check.

they do a surface background check. If you are done with probation and stuff then you should have no problem getting the job. Good Luck!

Background checks and drug tests cost money. Most places do that last - on people they want to hire. They are not going to spend the money to do it on everyone who applies. Only on strong candidates they really want.

In every job I have had that did background, credit or drug tests - that was always the last thing done.

Probably not. Consider how easily a well-known reporter got a job undercover as airport security in this revealing story on the stupidity of post 9/11 travel procedures:

Often, they do indeed. It depends on the position for which you applied.
