How was your Thanksgiving?

It was better than I thought it was going to be. My store was closed, so I didn't have to work (yay!). We got invited to the (maybe) future-step-daughter's in-laws for dinner, so I got out of making the big meal, just baked pies this morning. Two toddlers and two 5-year-olds in attendance, you can guess how wound up they were!
On the down side, the only left-overs here are pumpkin pie! I really want some turkey, stuffing, and noodles! There wasn't any green bean casserole (who doesn't have that?), cranberry sauce, or any sweet potatoes there today! Those are must-haves at my holiday dinners! What was there was good enough, though. The turkey was a little dry, the stuffing a little over-done, the potatoes runny. It's not really about the food, though. It was nice to eat so-so food with a bunch of people crowded around a big table. The company was good, and it felt kind of like Thanksgiving is supposed to feel.
Last year it was just me and my guy. The food was exquisite, the table beautifully set, but it just didn't really feel like Thanksgiving. It was just the two of us, and I think we both felt a little lonely and left out of our family's lives.
What breaks my heart is that I didn't get to see my kids. My daughter and her family got invited to her mother-in-law's, and my son is half-way across the country. That really broke my heart cause he's there all by himself. His fiancee broke up with him earlier this month and moved out, so I don't know how he spent the day.
So, anyway, my day was all right. Could have been worse. Hope yours was good, too!

It was all right. Except I have a bunch of canker sores so it was rather hard to enjoy the food. I keep on biting them accidentally!

Filling and boring at the same time. It is at least away from school where there are a bunch of buttholes who stress out life.

Mine was good. I spent it with family, but I have a lot of studying to do for next week, so it was busy too.
