What Rock Star's Ego never ceases to amaze and astound You?
My personal fave has to be Jonny reznick of the Goo Goo Dolls for saying he was a better singer than Robert Plant.
One of the greatest combinations of audacity and outright stupidity I have ever seen.
WOW...ya know?
So which Rockstar do You think is infected with a fatal dose of egomania gone wild?

First off, a belated Happy Thanksgiving to All!!

Great question, which brings up another one; which came first, the ego or the rock n' roll? I really don't know if there can be one without the other. Anyway, the first that came to mind was Diamond Dave, the prodigal son of the Roth family. Besides the posturing and prancing about, my favorite quote from him is from the time both he and Sammy Hagar were touring together. A reporter asked how David felt about sharing the stage with the Red Rocker. His reply? "Well, Sammy is all about showing up and being the hit at the party . . . what he doesn't realize is that I AM the party." 'Nuff said.
Ted Nugent ranks up there, too. When I was much younger and on the road, band-wise, the group I was in managed to snag the starting band spot on a bill with Ted Nugent second and Alice Cooper headlining. I had already met with Alice and the boys for an interview a couple years earlier, and had ready access to their dressing room. Not so with Sweaty Teddy. All backstage personnel were told by a very large dude that Ted's door was not to be disturbed. No one, not even his band mates, were allowed to mingle with Ted prior to his appearance, and he was gone moments after his show was done. Ego is as ego does, I guess.

I never heard Reznick (sp?) say that, but that has to be a pretty darn big ego to put himself up there.

Axl Rose... the guy still thinks he's Guns N' Roses.

And no matter how much I love Pink Floyd, Roger Waters has some ego issues. He said "Well, anyway, I am one of the best five writers to come out of English music since the War." Probably true but still very egotisical. And like Axl, he still thinks he's Pink Floyd.

Wow.... my mind's drawing a blank, I can't think of anyone else.

EDIT:
Happy Thanksgiving!
Just had my dinner. Stuffed to the brim, taking a break till the pie. :0)

Better than Robert Plant? Psssh, never liked the Goo Goo Dolls anyway.
David Lee Roth. Just recently saw Van Halen in concert and maaan does that man think he's something. It really makes me laugh.
Axl Rose, I love him, but WOW.
Ted Nugent... he thinks he's pretty great too. My chemistry teacher was a basketball coach at Ted's son's school and at a basketball game, Nugent was hasseling a bunch of basketball players and my teacher told him to sit down and shut up. You gotta love the Nuge, but he's right up there with the jerks.

I didn't know JR of the GGD said that, but I don't think it was egomania so much as stupidity.

Axl Rose. 'Nuff said.

Frank Iero or whoever from MCR that said his band will "save your life."

The Gallagher brothers definitley seem to think they are among the greatest things to grace Earth...

But the the undisputed king of all egomaniacs to ever hold a guitar has GOT to be, without a doubt, Prince.

**The Thumbs-Down Fairy is on a roll today!

Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon. The guy is a great vocalist, but he is soooooooo full of himself that he doesn't come out anytime before his band plays because he thinks he's that beatiful and famous. Plus he has 5 bodyguards! I mean come on!

Axl Rose, Dave Mustaine, and Glenn Danzig. They have such bad ego problems that they are damn near impossible to work with.
