and quite a lot of articles writen by a lady doctor by the name of Doctor Elizabeth Kubler Ross. Dr Ross received her medical degree from the University of Zurich in 1957. She then moved to New York and studied psychiatry and became Assistant Professor
of Psychiatry. She truly believes anyone born
badly disabled, has been here before and is now doing their karma. The only thing they are allowed to bring with them, is something they done in their former life, like paint or play a musical instrument. I found her book very interesting we have someone in the uk and he thinks the same. Glen Hoddle he is well known and was in all the newspapers with his believes not that long ago.

If we are all disabled in some way, which we are, I for instance have a genetic eye condition, then we have according to the noble Doctor all been here before and given that the world population is increasing where have all these new people been? perhaps Glen Hoddle and Dr Ross could explain that

I don't believe in reincarnation. I'm a Christian. Disabling birth defects are tragedies. Those innocent little babes have done nothing to deserve it. I would worry that people who agree with Dr. Ross would treat disabled people as sinners or evil people deserving of punishment.
I read a lot too and certainly don't agree with everything I read. I've often wondered why God allows so many bad things to happen in this world but can't accept that bad karma theory.
Suzie - I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. I was just voicing my opinion. Read a good mystery novel next time please! Have a wonderful day.

Well, one would have to believe in reincarnation, before they would be able to even think that this theory is possible. Since I don't believe in reincarnation, I say the theory is Hog Wash.
I do believe in Karma however, and have seen in action with some of the mean spirited people I have worked with in the past.

While I don't agree with this aspect of Dr. Ross', it is possible she has other theories that make more sense and are less offensive. One must first believe in reincarnation to accept this theory. Perhaps her real-life work surpasses this expressed opinion in her book.

On a similar note to this theory, ( and once again, please don't shoot the messenger) I am only relating what I have read, " we are our own Creator, before we are even born we know what we want to experience, we were an energy in the Universe wanting to know whats it's like to be on earth as a human".......Like I said this isn't what I believe or anything, it's just something I read on my search to try and find out why we are actually here for, what purpose for all the suffering etc....it's a hard one to swallow isn't it, the thought that we CHOSE to experience the things we are, Phewww!!! it's mind boggling....all of it

I have had a number of experiences of the other side, I have also heard statements by top cricketers saying that the disabled are on this earth as a punishment, and that nearly started a riot a number of years back, it might be true? but have no knowledge of this, but OK I'll go for it being true.

mmm... what about us who get severely disabled in this life? is that karma? will i get to relive this debilitating insidious condition all over again?
well, lets hope not, and like so many other psychiatrists, their opinions are contentious, and often twaddle...
how many psychiatrists does it take to change a lightbulb?
ONLY 1... but the lightbulb has got to want to change

I personally don't believe that, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. It makes no difference how much education someone has, that belief cannot be proven or dis proven. I do believe in Karma, but I believe it affects me in this life only.

It's quite a well known theory and its utter bollocks. Its also quite offensive. Any psychiatrist worth their doctorate wouldn't put their name to that kind of sh!te.
