How much does a flea dip usually cost for a pit bull and 2 cats?

Most vets don't dip anymore simply because its a waist of time. All it does is kill the fleas that are living on your pet. Same as a flea bath. It won't keep them from coming back or keep the eggs on your pet from hatching into new fleas. They usually just recommend getting advantage, advantix, or frontline, all which work, are safe for your pet, and helps keep the fleas off.

Vet's really don't do flea dips anymore. They recommend Advantage or Advantix (roughly $10-$14 per tube which lasts one month) or Frontline ($11-$15 per tube, also lasts one month) Advantage kills and prevents fleas, Advantix does fleas, ticks and mosquitos and Frontline does fleas and ticks. Be sure to always get flea medication from a Vet, the stuff sold in stores can be toxic especially to cats.

They don't get 'dips' from a vet, they get spot-ons like Frontline, Advantage, Revolution or Advocate. Prices vary, call round vets to see who does them cheapest. As a rough guide, a 3 month supply of Frontline for a cat is $20-$30.

Don't fall for the cheap spot-ons you can buy in pet stores, they don't work.
