Is it right to discriminate some countries and elect a best country? Every country has it's problems and its good characteristics but it's still a good question.
I suppose it depends on what a person's criteria for "best" is. If you're talking about the tourism and architecture and culture.
If you're talking about peace and general well....
I don't think there are many countries that are peaceful, except for small ones because of the less population to manage. Now, while people might say the US is "dangerous" and "full of crime" it's not a factor that can be controlled because there are so many people (more people in the state of California than in the country of Canada). However, the US has always percevered, they stand for liberty and peace, and they're well developed. I think that makes USA the best country in the world.
I'm not sure about USA being the best country of the world (I don't want to be ignorant) but I do believe in the words I said before that.

Isn't it interesting that so many people who answer this question as the USA have never been outside of the America.
The answer to this question depends on a lot of things. You want a country where there is little or no poverty, where the health care is good, low crime, high employment rates and people are unrestrained by government (or social discrimination) as much as possible. Well that isn't going to the the US.
Perhaps some the Scandinavian countries or maybe New Zeeland.

Depends on your definition of 'best".

The Human Development Index (HDI), published annually by the UN, ranks nations according to their citizens' quality of life rather than strictly by a nation's traditional economic figures. The criteria for calculating rankings include life expectancy, educational attainment, and adjusted real income.
In 2006, the top 10 countries according to the HDI were:
1. Norway
2. Iceland
3. Australia
4. Ireland
5. Sweden
6. Canada
7. Japan
8. United States
9. Switzerland
10. Netherlands

You should make the country you live in the best country in the world. Home is where the heart is and all that. I truly believe life is what you make it and country too. Help where you can wherever you live and create your own community. Be happy, life is painfully short.

The "best" country differs to every person you ask. One person may like the cold as one person may prefer the heat.
But since the United States is the ONLY Superpower.. I will say the U.S.A.
