Doesn't that seem a little immature?

I've had to block a few people for harassment. Some people take this stuff way too seriously. Otherwise I don't care.
Lots of people disagree with me and I'm a big girl, I can take it. I don't like it when I'm insulted though, but people are petty and I guess if one doesn't have a worthwhile argument an insult will do.

It's the only punishment available for disagreement. People become irritated when someone voices (or writes) an opposing opinion. We all become irritated with people who aren't as passionate about certain issues that are important to us, or have a different thought on that issue. Sitting in front of monitor screens, we are powerless to do anything about it. But wait, we have one nasty little option here. Yeah, it's immature. But we've all done more immature things than this before. Heck yeah, I'll block 'em. If nothing else, it'll make me feel better.

Maybe they only block the radicals? Like the ones that say ALL Democrats hate America and want us to lose the war? Or the ones that just hate the president because he is a Republican?

I agree...It's immaturity. I've been blocked for no other reason than that I held an alternate opinion...It wasn't rudeness, nastiness, etc., just their inability to handle an alternate viewpoint...which makes you wonder why they ask a question in the first place.

I have done it, and will continue to do it.
I have a lot of people blocked, but in actuality its probably 7 people with 10 profiles each.
Why? Because they report, answer with hate, rant, stupidity, and I have been suspended before because of these trolls I have to keep my Q/A 's private as it is. I be damned if I don't block them to boot.

For once, we agree. You're right, it's very immature and just goes to show their intelligence level. Unless you're deliberately doing something that would cause them to want to block you, then there's no reason they should. I personally like to listen out for people I disagree with, just so I can answer their questions.

I have only 2 blocked. Those are the ones who did not read my blurb about what I find acceptable and not. Mostly, I can talk to anyone with a brain.2 people did not meet that criteria.

I don't mind people who disagree with me. I certainly don't expect the last word on every issue. But people who can't respond without rudeness, profanity or name calling are just not worth my time. They get blocked every time.

It is. I would never do that, and the only reason that anyone would is because they are scared that the blocked person would read their answers and prove through the blocker's own words that the blocker was wrong.

The violations tend to get a little immature as well. I just recently received a violation for asking liberals to explain their beliefs and the corresponding contradictions. I have yet to report anyone that did not either A) have inappropriate images linked or on his/her profile, or B) have sexually suggestive or completely inappropriate language in his/her answer (which there is no excuse for). Perhaps believing in freedom of speech and upholding the constitution is too much for some people.
