Why do you hate John Cena? Honestly, what is your opinion of him?

I've been a wrestling fan for 40 years. I don't hate John Cena and never have. I didn't have a problem with Cena as champ. I am also not a huge fan of Cena. There are Cena-Haters, Cena-Lovers, and a few of us Cena-in-betweeners.

I don't understand why he is reviled by so many people here. I really think he isn't as hated as the Cena-Haters would have us believe. There are a few who can give valid reasons for their dislike (as can I for my dislike of Randy Orton), but the vast majority of the Haters just seem to give variations of "cena sux" or (here's a good one) "cena is gay" because it's "cool" to hate John Cena and only "little girls like cena".

A recurring negative about Cena is "he only knows five moves", meaning his matches are boring and predictable. Cena is a brawler, he basically punches and kicks, then his finisher. This describes most of the wrestlers in the WWE, including The Undertaker. And even Shawn Michaels. Granted, Michaels is not boring, but he has his formula for how he conducts his matches, and if you pay attention, you can predict what move he's going to do when. The point is, the WWE has it's own "style" of wrestling, which is different from TNA, ROH, New Japan, AAA, and all the rest. Cena wrestles the WWE "style", as did Hulk Hogan. In Japan, Hogan actually wrestled, unlike the punching and kicking extremely predictable Hogan we saw here.

"Hes been de champ to long". This is Vince McMahon's call; why is Cena blamed for it?

Let's draw a comparison. Kevin Nash. In my opinion, one of the most boring in-ring performers I've ever seen. Can't wrestle a lick. Punch, punch, knee, elbow, Jackknife. That's it. That is the full range of Nash's repertoire. Oh, and he can hold his foot up in the air so somebody can run in to it. And the man is almost revered. That boggles my mind. Yeah, Nash is funny and his promos are good; so are Cena's and Cena can wrestle rings around Nash.

John Cena is a professional. He shows up for work every day (injury notwithstanding) and he does his job. He does what is asked of him, whether it's being on the receiving end of a bloody two-(or three)-on-one beatdown or putting the STFU on his opponent to retain the championship. Amidst all the scandals and negativity aimed at pro wrestling by ALL of the media John Cena has represented the WWE as it's champion and ambassador with dignity and professionalism. I respect him for that. While I may not be his biggest fan, I do respect him and I believe he has been an outstanding ambassador for the WWE, and despite what anybody else may think, a credible world champion.

I have been a wrestling fan for 30 years or so and I do not hate him.
I can't say I am a big fan of his but I don't think he is that bad.
I more blame the WWE for bringing him up before he was really ready.
I think he is good on the mic (but I think he is kind of boring now which again is on the writers and not him).
But Stephanie McMahon was the person that wanted to bring him up before he was ready. Now he is too busy to work on ring skills. Still I do not think he is that bad I jsut think the WWE needed to give him more time when he was first starting out. Again that is on Stephanie and not him.

I hate the character.

It started off well when he rapped and wore throwback jerseys. I was entertained. Then, he stopped rapping and started trying to do funny Rock promos every week to less than stellar results. He started wearing camouflage and doing that stupid salute every time he comes to the ring. I don't know what his gimmick is anymore. Who is he?

Secondly, I hate his style. Clotheline, clothesline, clothesline, shoulder tackle, protobomb, "You Can't See Me" taunt, five knuckle shuffle, sneaker pump, F-U/STFU, win. In the words of the fans at the Hammerstein Ballroom at ONS 2, "Same old ****! Same old ****!"

I also hate the fact that he can smile like an idiot while a majority of an arena boos him. Most of all, I hate the fact that I'm supposed to believe that he's the greatest champion of all time.

I don't hate Cena (the real guy), nor do I think most fans really do. I think they hate how he's being used by the WWE. (his character) I actually started taking to him back before he turned babyface. WWE saw the potential to sell him to the little kids, and BAM! that's what happened.

The worst part about him was his title reign.

We all know he's a good guy, but what's going through his mind when he has to go out there and pump up the kids...

"THE CHAMP IS HERE"

Meanwhile he knows most men at home are tuning out...

No one should hate HIM, it was just his gimmick being shoved down our throats that got tiresome.
