depends with gaming platform you are using... not really its Call Of Duty 4 MW... its a First Person Shooter with some Role Playing Game throw into it. It will take you weeks to months to really beat and master the online game..

If you mean popular due to subscriber base, it would definitely be World of Warcraft.
However, you didn't clarify which genre (sci fi, fantasy, western) or if you meant pay to play or free to play, there are many many choices out there. I'd suggest looking at a site that has information on all the available titles so you can get more of a feel for what you may like. Try out something like MMORPG.com

I'd say that runescape and wow are both good but i like runescape for teh quests
