What is a record?

You need a turntable that can play backwards. Otherwise you have to use your hand and that can damage the motor. You can also use a tape machine that has reverse play.
By the way, a subliminal message can be recorded forward as well as backwards, but buried in the mix of the music.

If you are using a belt driven vinyl turntable you can put a twist in the belt. Alternatively get an old two track and four track tape recorder and move a recording from one to the other and you can play it forwards and backwards.
