Your topic is too wide. You need to narrow it down a little or you'll get bogged down in it. Decide if you want to talk about the history of the United States, or the geography, or the literature, or the culture, or regional differences, or whatever it is you want to talk about. The more specific you are, the easier it will be to do your project.
