n is faster but unless u have a T1 connection g will be fine also ..

The "N" standard is the next version of the current "G" wireless protocol. It will work with "G" and "B" cards because it is backwards compatible. The major difference is that "G" is only able to run at 54 mps, while "N" can run over 500mps. But as most DSL and Cable only runs at 100-150mps, that is the fastest you will actually get from an "N" network. But as dsl/cable speeds increase, if you have an "N" router you will be ready to use the higher speeds.
But be warned that the committee that officials decides how all these protocols works is "tweaking" the "N". It will not be official until June of 2009. Should they decide to make a major chance in the standard before then, any "N" hardware purchased now may not work properly with the final standard.

N is supposed to be faster (transmit and recieve more data per second)
the only problem is, if you buy a wireless n router, you have to have wireless n adapters in your computers to take advantage of the faster speeds (the router alone won't do it)
wireless G is fine but if you plan on doing alot of shared gaming, N might be a better option (especially in 3D games where video acceleration is important, less lagging)

Ok, someone commented that G and N are just a namebrand? OK, Please disregard.
Wireless G or 802.11G is a wireless specification as is wireless N or 802.11N.
802.11G operates at a 2.4GHz FQ and can deliver upto 54Mbits/s
802.11N operates at a FQ between 2.4GHz and 5GHz giving it a much broader range to operated in. The bandwith can be upto248Mbit/s
The issue is that 802.11N has not been established as a standard yet (even though you can buy hardware) and in the near future if the IEEE decides to change the 802.11N in anyway, your current 802.11N may not be compatible with the future standards of 802.11N.
My advice, until 802.11N has a concrete standard (which will be sometime in june of 2009) wait. Chances are that the prices for 802.11N will be much more less by then aswell.

Wireless-G and Wireless-N are just a brand name (forgot what company though... Linksys?) for the wireless standard that their routers use. Wireless-G uses the IEEE standard
802.11g, while Wireless-N uses 802.11n(?). Generally, "Wireless-N" is faster than "Wireless- G", or at least advertised(meaning, the actual results may be the same speed or slightly faster)

Besides what the other two have said, the range is also greater than g..but, for the differences in cost, etc..g works just fine..I get at least 17mb on mine for upload and 2.5mb for dwnload.
