Actually long before the coca cola advert red was used. It states it in the same stupid article I read today about that school banning a red santa costume and opting for green.

The way things are going then I guess it won't make much difference. The notion of young children sitting on the knee of some strange man will probably be outlawed by the politically correct brigade. I reckon we will start calling this event Year End instead of Christmas because it might upset non-Christians.
Since Christ was actually born in June we shouldn't actually be calling this Christmas anyway.

The idea of Santa originally comes from Saint Nicholas who did wear a red suit.

No, red is so much better and a much warmer colour. .Changing him back to green would be silly.. He'll kinda clash with the christmas tree.. .
