Probably not. But intelligent design is interesting because it notes patterns and information within the DNA code.

I don't think one has to be an atheist to be interested in studying these patterns.

Evolutionists are quick to say that the evident "design" in life is a result of random chance. That life only "looks like it was designed."

That's cool with me. But whether or not design is inherent in living systems was initiated by God, or by random chance, we should not be afraid of exploring it.

Oddly enough, many evolutionary scientists shy away from investigating this aspect - probably for fear of losing funding, or giving credence to creationism.

I guess they are more interested in protecting their theories than investigating the truth.

"Intelligent Design" is code for biblical creationism. It has no scientific basis. It cannot be studied scientifically because it is not scientific.

Your question is the wrong way round.

ID *is* a theory for the beginning of life (albeit a non-scientific one).
Evolution is the field that doesn't have a theory for the beginning of life.
Of course - that's because evolution DOESN'T HAVE TO because evolution is *not* about the beginning of life. It's about how life changes and has changed since then!

ID is not the only "field" interested in patterns in DNA. Genetics, molecular evolution, molecular biology, and others are all interested in this, and are actively exploring it. Have you heard of transposable elements? They were discovered by Barbara McClintock by studying patterns in chromatin.
Why do you think a non-scientific field such as ID is required to study these phenomena?

I'm afraid that you are - once again - displaying your complete ignorance about science in general, and evolution in particular. In fact, you don't even seem to know what Intelligent Design is.
Have fun belittleing yourself in front of an audience of thousands.

Why do you come over here to erect your " straw man " arguments? Wouldn't you be happier in R and S?

EVOLUTIONISTS DO NOT SAY THAT THE EVIDENT DESIGN IN LIFE IS THE RESULT OF RANDOM CHANCE!!!

NATURAL SELECTION IS NOT RANDOM!!!!!!

I guess you are more interested in promoting a lie, than learning the truth.

To all who may try to thoughtfully answer Jack's questions:

It's probably better to ignore him. He's not trying to learn anything and is just showing all of us how little he knows about evolution, science and biology.
