Ukraine's winter temperature is about what it is in the continental portions of the US. (Utah, Idaho, Montana, etc.), so anything that will grow in those climates will grow in Ukraine. Western Ukraine is wet and there are a lot of birch and pine. Eastern Ukraine is not so wet and you don't see so much birch and pine.

* Kousa Dogwood (Cornus kousa)
* Stellar Series Dogwoods (several varieties) - crosses of C. kousa x C. florida
* Pagoda dogwood (Cornus alternifolia)
* Franklinia (Franklinia alatamaha ) named after Ben Franklin
* Witchhazel hybrids (Hamamelis sp) such as 'Arnold Promise' & 'Diane' - winter blooming
* Vernal Witchhazel ( Hamamelis vernalis)
* Serviceberry ( Amelanchier arborea, A. canadensis ) 'Autumn Brilliance','Princess Diana', Spring Glory' , etc
* Amur Maple (Acer ginnala)
* Paperbark Maple (Acer griseum)
* American hornbeam aka Blue Beech aka Musclewood (Carpinus caroliniana)
* Japanese Stewartia ( Stewartia pseudocamelia) (borderline - OK in the right spot)
* Fringetree (Helesia caroliniana, H. monticola)
* English Hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata) 'Crimson Cloud' (only! - other varieties of this species are disease-prone)
* Washington Hawthorn ( Crataegus phaenopyrum)
* Green Hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata) 'Winter King'
* Ussurian Pear (Pyrus ussuriensis) 'Prarie Gem ' ( only this variety is small enough for you)
* Japanese Lilac Tree (Syringa reticulata ) 'Ivory Silk', 'Summer Snow'
* Common Persimmon (Diospyros virginiana ) esp. 'Meader' (hardier variety from U. of New Hampshire)
* Redbud (Cercis canadensis) , if provenance is from a northern climate . That is , the tree is only as hardy as the original seed source . For example, a line that originated in Minnesota would be good in your climate . Ones from Tennessee probably would not survive .

Will a cherry tree grow in Ukraine? They do very well in areas where it snows a small amount. They are lovely when they flower in springtime and are common to use as a memoriam.

I would grow some marijuana, but just a couple. It is a very resilient plant and is actually very beautiful when it starts to flower. Plus the plant has its upside after harvest.
