Tryptophan only makes you sleepy when you don't have a full stomach, and since most people eat multiple dinners on thanksgiving you most likely have a full stomach.

The tiredness is from a carb over load....what, from the stuffing, rolls, mashed potatos, sweet potatoes, the turkey too you know...and had any desert? pie? the crust is probably a dough...tons of carbs there too...

Actually tryptophan does not make you sleepy. Tryptophan is a essential amino acid that is not just found in turkey, but other meats (chicken, beef, pork, etc.) as well as dairy products. There is no evidence that eating any of these foods alone causes sleepiness. It's just another myth.
