I'm not sure how to answer should I attack you for being a "Liberal" "Tree Hugging" "Socialist" or a "Fascist" "Neocon" "Corporate Apologist" "Royalist"
I guess I have to answer intelligently, well we have to protect ourselves by "reading" and making intelligent choices on who we elect and when they let us down we must give them the boot!!

Good question. But I don't think that Republicans in charge care about protecting us from the outside either. After all 9/11 was preventable and happened under Bush's watch and the ports and borders are still wide open--including Iraq's borders (which is the excuse for weapons from Iran supposedly making it into the country). What a joke!

I do not favor either of these two parties. But, Republicans are definitely the worst of the two parties, and they cannot protect us from anything, because they themselves ARE the bad forces within. *sm*

This is no time to go paraphrasing Juvenal.
In fact, the Republican's and the Democrat's claim to power is so fragile that we really don't need much protection from the protectors.
Sure, I have complained about Bush abusing his power, but he ended up screwing it up. And it's probably easy to screw it up.

Many Americans no longer realize that independence as individuals is a characteristic that made this country great. Too many of us want protection from too many things.
